Craig identifies and develops areas of scientific research with a societal and/or commercial value. Working alongside researchers, he advises on strategic Research and Development pathways, potential academic and commercial partners, IP protection strategies and generating spinoff companies. As a business developer, Craig is often responsible for the evaluation, design and implementation of large-scale Public-Private Partnerships in the form of Innovation Nodes. He has 7 years of research experience in Oceanography and Climatology, publishing 11 peer reviewed articles. During his PhD and postdoc he assembled and led research teams to remote locations in Africa and the Middle East on coral drilling expeditions. Further, Craig worked as a Marine Scientist for the aquaculture company Othniel Shellfish, and was the head of marine scientific research for Reef Conservation International, an NGO based in Central America.
