On Wednesday the 28th of June and on the 5th of July, Business Generator Groningen and the UMCG Innovation Center are organizing the breakfast session 'Biotech Booster; a great opportunity to fund your early stage innovation'. The breakfast session is aimed at UG and UMCG researchers who want to know more about Biotech Booster and whether their innovation project fits the Biotech Booster program.
Laboratorium

Biotech Booster is a national program to support the commercialization of biotechnology findings in The Netherlands. Funded by the National Growth Fund, the Biotech Booster program provides financial support, mentorship and networking opportunities to guide founders from the idea stage to the development of an investable/commercial proposition.

Researchers from the UG and UMCG with an innovative business idea in the field of biotechnology can submit projects in all five Thematic Clusters (TC): White Biotechnology: Industrial Biotechnology & Production (TC 1); Green Biotechnology: AgroFood Biotechnology (TC 2); Red Biotechnology: Human Health, Diagnostics, Therapeutics (TC 3, 4 & 5).

Unlocking the potential of biotech inventions

Jasper Dijkstra, UG and UMCG representative Biotech Booster: "Within the framework of Biotech Booster, no less than 250 million euros will be available until 2031 to give biotech inventions a head start and develop them into investable propositions. This is unprecedented by Dutch standards. Biotech Booster is specifically aimed at early-stage projects with high potential that require additional (business) expertise and funding. Biotech Booster's target date for the acceptance of projects is the end of this year. That is why we are already starting to make researchers aware of the possibilities that Biotech Booster can offer their project".
