My work focuses on brain and neuroendocrine tumours, with the main research lines: rare cancers with special interest in neuroendocrine tumors and neuro-oncology, effects of physical activity during cancer treatment and chemokines and their receptors.
Research involves the exploration of novel rational cancer treatment options including lifestyle changes, to enhance therapeutic efficacy and personalized medicine, in interdisciplinary and translational research.
Next to being the head of the European Neuroendicrine Tumor Society Center of Excellence (ENETS) and my position as principal investigator of multiple clinical studies, I lead the national biobank for rare cancers (FORCE), also supervise PhD students and teach medical students of various training programme.
