Anya has a background as a nurse and developed an early interest in how care processes are organized and how colleagues can be better supported. This led her to study Information Services and Management, during which she conducted her graduation research at the UMCG on the tension between management and use of information systems. As a DBC coordinator, she worked closely with clinical departments to improve care registration, implement legislative changes, and resolve complex registration issuesin close collaboration with clinical departments. As an EMR expert, she contributed to the setup and rollout of the new EMR (Epic), with a focus on the DBC and claims modules. In her current role as an Innovation Consultant at the Innovation Center, these experiences come together. Anya applies her knowledge and skills to help UMCG colleagues turn ideas into innovative solutions. In doing so, she supports improving care in a simpler and more efficient way. Her strengths lie in connecting people, information, and processes, analyzing workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and bringing structure.
