NeoVitAI

Project NeoVitAI

NeoVitAI is funded through Interreg VI Deutschland-Nederland (project number 31162) and runs from May 2026 to April 2029.

Our goal is to make the implementation of AI in healthcare manageable, responsible, and sustainable. At the heart of NeoVitAI is the development of an AI implementation handbook that will provide practical guidelines and best practices for hospitals, companies, patients, and their families. Rather than focusing on the technology itself, the project addresses the organizational, ethical, regulatory, and human factors that are essential for successful AI adoption in clinical practice.

Neonatology, the care for premature babies, serves as the project's showcase and brings the entire implementation journey into focus, from installation and validation to ethics, regulation, workflow integration, and staff training. By combining the complementary expertise and strengths of Dutch and German projectpartners, NeoVitAI aims to create a transferable approach that can be applied across healthcare settings, while positioning the northern German-Dutch border region as a frontrunner in the responsible use of AI in healthcare.
