iLab

Subtitle

The iLab is a collaborative initiative coordinated by the University Center Psychiatry (UCP) at the University Medical Center Groningen. It initiates and facilitates innovative research, with a special focus on personalizing mental health care.

For whom?

The iLab supports clinical researchers affiliated with the UCP by facilitating their research, providing training and education, and implementing innovative, practical solutions that make a difference in clinical practice; ultimately aiming to improve mental health care for patients.

Why?

In line with the mission of the UCP, the iLab aims to contribute to a world with fewer mental health problems. This is done by developing better intervention and prevention strategies.

Core tasks

The iLab fulfils its mission through six core tasks:

Implementation of care innovations: Initiating high-risk, high-gain research projects that focus on implementing personalized care strategies into clinical practice.
Knowledge development: Developing, testing and presenting new research methods aimed at advancing personalized care.
Communication: Facilitating the exchange of knowledge and collaboration between patients, clinicians and researchers.
Statistical and methodological support: Providing expert advice to researchers and clinicians on grant applications, study design and statistical analysis in the context of personalized care.
Education: Offering courses for researchers and clinicians, sharing expertise in statistical, methodological and practical aspects of mental health research.
Instrumentation: Supplying equipment and access to research facilities to support the work of clinical researchers.
