"Communication is what makes us human My research interest is on speech communication, and especially for hard of hearing children and adults. I am an engineer who works at a hospital, and I work daily with the clinical team. With my group, and in collaboration with our clinical teams, we want to improve quality of life of individuals who wear hearing aids and cochlear implants. But we also promote better protection of the ears, and we introduce effective rehabilitation tools. We even use humanoid robots now as part of our diagnostic tools for children in the clinic or work with piano teachers for use of music as a training tool."
