My research concerns population pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modeling, estimation and simulation with a special focus on diverse populations (young children, adults, elderly, and obese) and clinical applications of target-controlled-infusion systems for anesthesia, sedation, and antibiotic therapy. I received a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University (1993), a PhD in Medical Sciences at the University of Groningen (2005), and am currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Groningen. I am an Editorial Board member at the Anesthesiology journal.
