DASH Webinar: The Data Revolution in the Intensive Care Unit

News
In the intensive care unit, patients with life-threatening diseases are treated. Decisions by the clinical team often lead to quick effects on the state of the patient. To monitor these patients, thousands of measurements are stored each day. This makes the intensive care unit the ideal habitat for medical data science.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, a national data sharing collaboration was initiated between 66 out of 81 intensive care units in the Netherlands. All electronic health record data from 3464 patients were combined into the Dutch Data Warehouse, resulting in a dataset with more than 200 million data points. In this DASH webinar, we would like to present the major challenges in combining and cleaning these data. Also, we would like to discuss the potential of these data to revolutionise intensive care medicine.
